Prof. Kerryn Phelps

Prof. Kerryn Phelps AM has been a doctor for 40 years, and is a pioneer in the fields of health communication and integrative medicine in Australia.
Prof. Phelps is a Conjoint Professor at NICM Health Research Institute at the University of Western Sydney.
Prof. Phelps is Past President of the Australian Medical Association, and Past President of the Australasian Integrative Medicine Association.
In 2003 she was awarded the Centenary of Federation Medal for services to Medicine and Australian society and in 2011 received an Order of Australia. In 2014 she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters by the University of Western Sydney.
She is a former Deputy Lord Mayor of Sydney.
Prof. Phelps won the 2018 Wentworth by-election, occasioned by the resignation from Parliament of Malcolm Turnbull following his removal as prime minister. She won the previously safe Liberal seat in a 19-point swing and was the first independent candidate to win the Federal seat of Wentworth.
She is married to Jackie and has three children.
